| I’ve been a performing acoustic musician since I was 14 years old. I wrote my first song around that time as well. I have written songs for my own enjoyment, out of my own desire to communicate, as well as for theater projects, county historical societies celebrating anniversaries, brides and grooms preparing weddings. I have gained a lot of depth in my understanding of the human heart and strength of spirit while also being inspired to write about love anticipated, rejoiced, lost; about events profound and mundane. I hope to continue on this path and spend the length of my life observing, listening, learning, musing, writing, singing and sharing the way a songwriter/storyteller/minstrel does. This pursuit has brought me through some of the darkest times and to some of the greatest joys of my life. The ability to turn a phrase, hear a “hook”, create a distinctive melody or chord change is a gift that makes me both humble to bear and proud to share. |
